On Tuesday, opposition leaders criticized Rane's comments regarding the 'Malhar Certification' for Hindu meat traders.
Congress MLA Nana Patole condemned Rane's remarks, stating, "A minister should not speak in this manner. It sends a message that the Chief Minister has no control over his ministers. If any minister is inciting conflict between religions, the CM should take action."
However, BJP MLA Sanjay Upadhyay supported Rane's statement, arguing that chemicals produced during the halal process are harmful to the body.
"I have no issue with what anyone eats, but if someone is being fed in a harmful way, it should be addressed. The chemicals produced during the halal process are detrimental to health. I stand with Nitesh Rane on this matter. Chicken and mutton shops should be licensedanonovo-pg1," Upadhyay said to ANI.
