Uttarakhand Avalanche: Rescue Mission Ends With Rescue Of 46 Workers, 8 Deaths
The rescue mission to bring back trapped Border Roads Organisation workers in avalanche-hit Chamoli of Uttarakhand has come to an end as 46 workers out of the total 54 have come out alive while eight others died in the extreme weather condition and the natural disaster.
Vinod Kumar Suman, Secretary of Uttarakhand Disaster Management Department, confirmed the numbers with Outlook India. He said all the eight bodies have been retrieved and the 46 workers are getting medical attention.

Election Commission Says Identical EPIC Numbers In Different States Don't Mean 'Fake' Voters
The Election Commission, addressing the reports of identical voter card numbers to electors in two different states, said that duplicate numbers do not necessarily imply 'fake' voters.
They explained that while elector photo identity card (EPIC) numbers of some of the voters "may be identical", the other details including demographic details, assembly constituency and polling booth are different.
